Yoga for Beginners Series: Learning the Foundational Postures of Yoga

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

Yoga is a tool for living well. The discipline encourages each of us to explore the postures to cultivate a sense of curiosity about ourselves and our habits, to learn the art of quieting the mind and to work compassionately with ourselves. Ultimately, if we stay with it and practice all aspects of yoga, we become more familiar with equanimity (mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation). What a gift.

If you have been thinking of trying yoga for the first time or if it has been quite a while since you have stepped on the mat or maybe you just love the Beginners Practice like me, I am teaching a Beginners 3 Week Class Series

at Bhakti Barn Yoga Studio in Millburn beginning:

Sunday October 11th at 10am

Sunday October 18th at 10am

Sunday October 25th at 10am

Each class is one hour & you can register for one or all three classes!

Option to take these classes outdoors with very safe socially distancing practices in place or in the com

fort of your own home on Zoom.

TO SIGN UP FOR SERIES EMAIL bhaktibarn@gmail.com www.bhaktibarn.com

Join us as we explore the foundational postures of yoga. If you have never tried yoga this series is perfect for you. This three part series is designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking continued understanding of the basic yoga postures. Beginners class series introduces students to a brief history of yoga, fundamental principles of alignment, how to safely and intelligently transition from one posture t

o another, variations of each pose to address injuries, breathwork and

meditation. Students will learn yoga postures through clear and comprehensive verbal instruction and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety and stability in each pose. Expect to learn how to gain more flexibility, range of motion and promote an overall sense of relaxation in both body and mind.

Attend one or all three classes. Drop ins welcome!
