Have you ever heard of the Washington Post's sociology experiment? Well, let me tell you.....a man was placed in the metro subway station in Washington D.C. during morning commuter hours. He played the violin for roughly 45 minutes. During that time thousands of commuters whisked by him not even taking a glance over at the violinist. Only a handful of people took the time to stop for a moment. The violinist was the great Joshua Bell, one of the most skilled violin virtuosos of this era. His violin of choice was a 3.5 million dollar Stradivarius and he was playing some of Bach's most complicated pieces. I share this study with you because you have to wonder what else are we missing when are lives get too busy.


In the midst of the pandemic I was so grateful for my yoga and meditation practices to lien into as a means to calm my nervous system during a time of so much fear and uncertainty. And now, as we find ourselves forging ahead in this big wide open world, I am grateful for these practices as a means of slowing down and as a reminder to be easy with myself. I find myself wondering what the rush is all about.


As the wise Henry David Thoreau writes, "I have no time to be in a hurry". We don't want to miss the view right in front of us because we are too busy and can't find the time to pause and enjoy more moments in our day to day. Don't you want to enjoy the view?
